Employee Highlight: A Conversation with Marketing Intern Jacob About Working at a Global Company
Can you share your background and what brings you to do an internship at Techbros?
I was born in the UK and lived there until I was five, after which my family relocated to Düsseldorf, Germany, where I still reside today. I completed my high school education in April of this year and immediately began searching for internship opportunities to gain practical experience before starting university next year. I was drawn to Techbros because of its innovative approach and I saw it as an ideal place to develop my skills.
As an Intern, how do you usually spend your day?
Currently, my primary responsibility is redesigning and developing the company website, which occupies most of my time. This experience has been extremely valuable in honing my technical and creative skills.
How has your experience interning at Techbros so far? Have you experienced or learned anything new?
My experience at Techbros has been purely positive. From day one, I was encouraged to take the lead and experiment in various departments. After expressing my interest in web development, I was entrusted with the full redesign and development of the Techbros website, which has been an exciting challenge. Additionally, I was tasked with organizing two office events and workshops. This responsibility has helped me develop my organizational and communication skills while fostering a sense of community within the team. Overall, I've gained a deeper understanding of the tech industry and enhanced my problem-solving abilities.
How would you describe the work environment at Techbros?
The work environment at Techbros is incredibly multicultural and friendly. As it is an Indonesian company, I've had the opportunity to learn about different cultural perspectives and work styles, which has broadened my worldview. The team is supportive and open-minded, creating a collaborative atmosphere where everyone feels valued.
What message or tips would you like to give to others starting their first internship?
One key piece of advice I would give to those starting their first internship is to choose your internship location wisely. It's important to find a place that values your contributions and offers meaningful experiences that align with your career goals. Don’t hesitate to voice your interests and seek opportunities to learn beyond your assigned tasks; taking initiative can lead to exciting projects and personal growth. Lastly, always maintain a curious mindset—being open to new challenges and feedback can greatly enhance your learning journey.
